In 2015 after an unsuccessful collaboration project, Mystical Poets Productions explored increasing media awareness in the African Diaspora community in the DC Metropolitan area.

In 2016, 6  topics of focus in the African Community were selected and produced giving coverage to various events in the African Community.  The series was cable-cast in the DC metropolitan area, airing on 4 public and government access cable channels.

In 2017, a digital resource hub focused on local resources and local media was created.


Today, the African Community Forum is a resource guide for residents in the DC metropolitan area with a focus of informing and engaging the community while bridging the gap between organizations, governments, and individuals.


About Producer:

Isaac Osei Asare migrated to the DC Metropolitan area in the early 90s. He's a producer and videographer at Mystical Poets Productions. Isaac serves on the Montgomery County Community Action Board, appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Council, working for the betterment of the poor and the working poor in Montgomery county. He is a previous board member of Montgomery Community Media and currently serves on the Fairfax Public Access Board.  Isaac is also an elder at Idylwood Presbyterian Church and often enjoys spiritual dialogue in the community.  His resume include work with the City of Rockville, City of Takoma Park, Prince George‚Äôs Community College, and Montgomery Community Media. During his role as community project manager for Montgomery Community Media, Isaac was instrumental in providing access to media training to the immigrant community  at the Gilchrist center in Wheaton Maryland.
